Choosing a venue for an event is an art. It certainly is! If they consider that an event must absolutely bring added value to their audiences and transform people, they must absolutely check several points, on which the success of their operation depends.

When selecting a venue, is the event organizer there to personally please himself? Of course! But above all, he must have the creative will to share with his guests the reasons why he chose this place. When you tell a beautiful story with passion, you create in the other person, a listening, an interest, an expectation... Considering your guest, keeping them in expectation, is the very first stone to lay for a successful event. A good choice of venue is measured by the promise of the expected experiential intensity. In other words, the venue is the first element that must fix the participant's attention.

The resonance, you will seek

Every place carries stories. Behind the beautiful stones, there are often women and men who, in the past, have crossed spaces and time and left a trace. All this heritage must resonate with the objectives that the organizer wants to satisfy and with the messages that he wants to transmit. A place is never chosen at random, but in light of what it can bring as added value to the editorial ambition. The event story is never as relevant as when it is based on the richness of the content of a place.

Behind the walls of the chosen place, there is also a life, economic and social. At a time when sobriety must also be applied to the event, the first gesture could be to call upon local suppliers. Checking that the venue is at the heart of an ecosystem that values local expertise seems useful when it comes to reducing its carbon footprint. In recent years, the professionalization of the events sector has been accompanied by the development of highly competent local players. Paris is no longer the headquarters of all professionals.

Thou shalt examine the technique

The technical subject is still a stumbling block in many venues events. Beyond the video, light and sound configurations that can be imported when the venue is not equipped, there are two essential questions that must absolutely be checked: the energy power and the quality of the network. Too often, their weakness creates cold sweats for the organizers, who forgot to ask the question. Some of the feedbacks we have had are about blown fuses and a random Internet connection. 

Thou shalt take care of the gastronomy

The event catering solutions proposed by the venue are to be listened to carefully. First of all, because cooking in venues, a fortiori atypical, requires some equipment that can greatly facilitate the preparation of dishes or cocktails. The operators of the venue are in control of their spaces and have therefore often pre-selected caterers or restaurateurs who know the venues. Besides, this is France. We know that the plate counts a lot in the final grade given to the event!

You will check for accessibility

In a world where time is of the essence, routes to an event location must be clear and short. Time wasted due to traffic jams, parking difficulties, a long walk... before reaching your goal, is a trap. An accessible location is one that is close to logistical facilities: airport, train station, metro or bus station, parking for two-wheelers, cab or VTC... The journey to the event is part of the experience. It is a kind of preparation for the participant. It is less a question of duration than of content. Better a guest in a good mood than a grumpy one.
