We have seen many abbeys around France, so finding this one had good reviews made it an easy decision to visit. My guess, however, is that those reviews are maybe for the hotel rather than for the abbey as a visitor attraction. The entrance is very expensive for what you get. Only a handful of rooms are open, and the only one that will last in the memory is the monks dining room. The rest are just empty spaces with no real character or interest. The proposed route begins with a cave filled with old light bulbs, with no explanation why this might be of interest. Then you go past various kitchen gardens, which are mostly abandoned to weeds. On reaching the building you enter the cloister (no access to the garden) and the few open rooms are all accessed from there. You could do the whole thing in 10 minutes.

We went there on a visit and, paid 10€ per person expecting a nice long historical visit after driving two hours, thinking we'd get historical context etc. As a visitor and non-resident (primarily a hotel), there's barely anything to visit, so the visit takes 15-20 minutes. Nice place but not worth the time/money

I didn't sleep at the abbey, but came for a company event (200+ people) for dinner. The spot is magnificent, organizations was great and the restaurant location was just amazing, right in the church part. Deco was plot to perfection and all the menu was excellent. Service was top as well, so I can only highly recommend the place from an event&culinary perspective.

The abbey is wonderful to visit for an afternoon. You've got plenty of space to chill, especially when you have a sunny day. And it's easy to park. The shop offers many nice goodies and books related to the middle age. And the staff is smiling. If you're considering making an event, such as a seminar or a wedding, that's a good place to be. They are professional about planning events, so I definitely recommend it.
