Musée de la Vie Romantique
16 Rue Chaptal, 75009 Paris, France

Book the Museum of Romantic Life, a green setting in the heart of Paris
The charm of the literary circles of the Romantic period
The quiet rue Chaptal is home to the Museum of Romantic Life, dedicated to the arts under the Restoration and the July Monarchy, and more particularly to George Sand and Ary Scheffer. For nearly thirty years, the painter lived in the house, worked there and received in the studio-salon the artistic elite of his time: Chopin, Liszt, Lamartine, Delacroix, Thiers or Dickens. The collection brings together a set of paintings, objets d'art and furniture, witnesses of this brilliant period.
Choosing the Musée de la Vie romantique means receiving your guests in a true haven of peace, in the heart of Paris.
The interior of the main pavilion, which houses the collections, is open to the public; the other spaces offer an exceptional setting for your events. Host your guests in the intimate setting of the artists' studios or in the museum's garden, a green setting with bucolic charm.
You can organize events of various sizes up to 120 people: evening visits of the collections over a drink, breakfasts, cocktail parties or seated dinners, photo shoots, press presentations, seminars, conferences...
The artist's studios
Opposite the main pavilion, the painter Ary Scheffer had two studios built in 1831: the Atelier-Salon, where he received the "Tout-Paris" of the July Monarchy, and the Grand Atelier, where he devoted himself to painting. These two spaces, full of history, can be privatized for your events.
Outdoor spaces: courtyard and garden
Behind a discreet alley lined with century-old trees, the museum houses a paved courtyard and a charming garden. In fine weather, you can welcome your guests for a timeless interlude, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
A greenhouse overlooking the garden houses the museum's tea room. The greenhouse and its dining area can accommodate up to 19 people and can be used by the local restaurant owner, Rose Bakery.
