Musée de la Libération de Paris – Musée du général Leclerc – Musée Jean Moulin
Book the liberation of paris museum, prepare your next victory
A dive into the history of the Liberation of Paris, in a classified pavilion on the Place Denfert-Rochereau.
The museum opened its doors in its new location on a symbolic date: August 25, 2019 for the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris. It allows visitors to understand a fundamental page of French history through the journey of two very different men, Jean Moulin and Philippe de Hauteclocque. Their stories accompany the visitor through the rooms presenting more than 300 objects, original documents, photographs, archival videos or testimonies that evoke the resistance, the fighting, the repression, the clandestinity and the recovered freedom.
Under the museum, you can discover a high place of the Liberation of Paris: the command post of Colonel Rol-Tanguy.
