The hotel of the Dosne-Thiers foundation was the residence of Adolphe Thiers and his wife, Élise Dosne. Located on Place Saint-Georges in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, the building was destroyed by the Paris Commune in May 1871. After suppressing the insurrection, Adolphe Thiers, then president of the Republic, had his hotel rebuilt by the architect Alfred-Philibert Aldrophe. The hotel then took on its current appearance, with facades evoking the Louis XVI style and rich interiors reflecting the taste for eclecticism of the inhabitants. The Thiers library, specialized in the history of the 19th century, currently welcomes students and researchers from Wednesday to Friday from 12:00 to 18:00.
The foundation has large and elegant halls, which allow it to hold prestigious events.
The first floor and its garden
On a surface of 190m2, a set of five reception rooms with panelled decorations, with an elevation of six meters under ceiling, open at the same time on a raised court and on the garden, whose privatization can be considered, in the evening.
The apartments on the second floor
On the second floor, under a four-meter high ceiling, there is a large, very luminous room of 110m2 (the Édouard Bonnefous Room), a library-lounge of 60m2 (the Jacques Rueff Room) and a small adjoining room of 30m2, all connected by a gallery with a beautiful elevator. Two 3m x 4m screens are integrated into the two larger rooms.
The first two floors of the hotel can be made available for study days, conferences, product launches, lunches and press conferences, private receptions, awards and decorations, concerts, and various meetings.
The lounges can also be used as sets for film shoots, photo shoots and television shows.
