Domaine national de Saint-Cloud
Book the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud, the historic park and gardens of the former royal and imperial residence
Saint-Cloud, domain of kings and princes
The national domain of Saint-Cloud acquired its first letters of nobility with Catherine de Médicis in 1577. The famous queen mother wished to use the spring of drinking water discovered there to supply the Tuileries Palace. It was here that her son, King Henri III, was assassinated by Jacques Clément in 1589.
Passed into the hands of the Gondi family, a wealthy Florentine family close to the Medicis, Saint-Cloud continued its destiny until it caught the eye of King Louis XIV in 1650. The Sun King forced the owner of the time to sell him the estate, which he in turn offered to his brother Philippe.
The estate of Philippe d'Orléans, younger brother of Louis XIV, the national domain of Saint-Cloud lost its château, burned down in 1870, but it still has 460 hectares of gardens, park and wooded areas that offer one of the best expressions of classical garden art. Designed by Le Nôtre, it is also one of the most beautiful parks around Paris.
At the gates of Paris, a majestic green setting for your events
Although Château has disappeared, the Domaine de Saint-Cloud has retained its unmistakable character. With its 460-hectare park, a protected natural site since 1923, the estate was awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label in 2005.
As Louis XIV wanted in Versailles, everything in this "remarkable garden" is a stage, where even the walkers are part of a majestic staging.
And it is true that this enchanting setting plunges us straight into an atmosphere worthy of the festivities of the court of Versailles. At the bend of the statues of Apollo, Bacchus or Venus, or near the fountains, basins and waterfalls which come to life in an ingenious and theatrical way, it is all the royal enchantment which will come to put in music your event.
The Domaine National de Saint-Cloud is a majestic green setting, perfect for sumptuous receptions. Garden parties, business cocktails, award ceremonies: make your professional event part of the prestige of this exceptional place.
