Cool space and interesting art. Didn't know about symbolism as an art genre before I came here. Some of the paintings are mindblowingly rich in detail. I also loved the spiral staircase from 2nd to 3rd floor.

Small and charming museum built within and above the painter's home. After visiting some private rooms that are filled with art and artefacts, you proceed to 2 more floors that house an impressive collection of Moreau's art, with plenty of unfinished works. A couple of masterpieces will invite you for a closer look, and the artist's symbolism style should make it worth your time. I spent slightly more than one hour and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I went to the museum simply because it was nearby. Nevertheless, the museum surprised me: a beautiful mansion, an incredible staircase, preserved interiors of the office, living room, dining room and bedroom. I didn't know much about Moreau, but I read during my visit to the museum: an interesting fact is that he did not sell his paintings, so all his significant works are in this museum. I would especially like to note the museum toilet, which is on the 2nd floor and is also a historical room, but available for use. It is always surprising when a toilet in a historical building turns into a strange and ugly mix of modern and historical. Why is it nit possible to maintain the design in a completely historical model? It's not difficult at all. I really wanted to replace the hand napkins, soap, antiseptic dispenser, trash can and water drain chain with something more authentic 😝😝😝

A pleasant visit. Two floors of art, and hundreds of sketches, and a beautiful staircase. Also included was a small tour of Gustave's appartment. Not my favorite artist, but if you like Greek mythology and some Christian art, it's interesting. It takes about one hour to see everything.

Went for a visit not knowing what to expect. I knew Moreau is the king of symbolism in France. There are 3 levels to visit: his living places and two floors with a ton of his paintings. Very crowded walls in the rooms ; paintings can be unachieved as well as totally completed. Very often the Greeks are represented: Jupiter, Salome, Hercule, Pasiphae... 200+ paintings It is interesting but I am not fond of. The lights or the blâmées of the paintings are a surprise , sometimes too dark or too bright but he makes his point where he wants us to focus. Interesting museum and definitely worth a visit if the 2nd floor huge room that is really impressive
