Musée de la Romanité
16 Bd des Arènes, 30900 Nîmes, France

Book the Musée de la Romanité and enjoy the most beautiful rooftop of Nîmes
An innovative institution
Come and discover the Musée de la Romanité, a real island of serenity in the heart of the bustle of Nîmes.
Designed by the contemporary architect Elizabeth de Portzamparc, it plays with the transparencies of the most beautiful monuments of Nîmes and transports you to the heart of their Roman past. The museum, at the cutting edge of technology, presents the city's collections, which come to life thanks to augmented reality devices.
The origins of the city are evoked by the remains of a monumental pediment that adorns the central atrium of the building. The double revolution staircase takes the visitor to the Gallic period, then to the heart of Roman daily life, to discover Nîmes and its inhabitants nearly 2,000 years ago. It then crosses the Middle Ages, up to the contemporary period, to discover the influence of Romanity over the centuries.
Its modular spaces can accommodate up to 500 guests for your prestigious events. Its fabulous rooftop offers a 360° view of the city and the Arena, while the auditorium, the meeting rooms and the exhibition hall offer the archaeological garden as a backdrop. And to complete the experience, you can also offer your guests a personalized and exclusive tour of the museum's collections.
