Monastère Royal de Brou
63 Boulevard de Brou, Bourg-en-Bresse, France

Book the Royal Monastery of Brou, in the footsteps of Marguerite of Austria
A masterpiece of flamboyant gothic art
The royal monastery of Brou was born five centuries ago, from the love of an exceptional woman, Marguerite of Austria for her husband Philibert le Beau. Built at the gates of Bourg-en-Bresse at the beginning of the 16th century, this jewel of flamboyant gothic architecture houses three tombs: that of Philibert le Beau as well as that of his mother and the tomb of Marguerite of Austria.
A striking building, it captivates the visitor from the very first seconds, with its immaculate facades, its impressive glazed roof and its three vast cloisters. Of extreme refinement, the stained glass windows that adorn the chapels are original. Relating episodes from the Gospel, they depict Marguerite and Philibert, whose love continues to irradiate this exceptional monument.
Today the monastery of Brou is a cultural place which proposes shows, exhibitions, events... To live crazy stories in a place out of time.
Unbelievable reception areas
This monument also hosts private events and rents its spaces. You can rent :
- The nave of the church, an essential part of the monastery that can accommodate up to 500 people. Between vaults and stained glass, this immense space can be arranged according to your needs (meetings, seminars, press conferences).
- The 3 cloisters of the monastery have a capacity of 400 to 500 people each. These outdoor spaces are a fabulous setting for your cocktail parties, shows or concerts.
In addition, the conference room and the upper gallery (always rented together), form a spacious and convivial space for colloquiums, conferences or meetings and training. With its complete equipment and its capacity of 90 people, this comfortable space is entirely modular. Advantage in winter... it is heated! - Endally, the large forecourt on the main façade can be used for commercial operations.
