Domaine de Candé
Route du Ripault, 37260 Monts, France

A château made famous by a wedding with the perfume of scandal
The current château owes its appearance to François Briçonnet, mayor of Tours. In 1503, he had a Renaissance-style château built. At the dawn of the 19th century, a new and rich elite settles in the Loire Valley. Thus, in 1853, Santiago Drake Del Castillo, heir of a rich Anglo-Cuban family, enlarged the château, added a wing to the main pavilion and began the creation of the English-style park.
Candé had its moment of glory in 1937 when the Duke of Windsor celebrated his wedding with the American Wallis Simpson. During your event, you may be lucky enough to discover the newlyweds' signature engraved on the library's woodwork!
The Domaine de Candé, a place with a modern and audacious design
A symbolic reception place, Candé has been modernized throughout its history. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Bedaux family, rich Franco-American owners equipped it with facilities that were rare at the time. From the two-level kitchens, the fitness room with the same equipment as the Titanic, to the rare Skinner organ, one of the last three in the world, Candé is an estate dedicated to events.
With a capacity of 500 people, its numerous reception areas offer great perspectives for your corporate parties or photo shoots and filming.
