Located in the village of Blacé, in the heart of a beautiful vineyard, our château dating back to the 13th century has been able to preserve its historical setting while benefiting from contemporary renovations that provide all the necessary comfort and charm typical of the French way of life.

When it was built in the 13th century by the lords of Jarnioux, Champ-Renard served as a fortified house: château du Beaujolais has a drawbridge, moats, a keep and fortifications. In 1284, the château is attached to the lords of Beaujeu in order to defend the territory from enemies coming from the south and the east.

Over the centuries, the estate has known several successive lords and owners, including the Manchervets in the 15th century. When the daughter of the family, Claude, brought the château to her husband, Champ-Renard met for the first time a famous historical figure in the person of Jean Agnot, the king's squire remembered for having rescued the knight Bayard at the battle of Garigliano. The château will remain the property of the Agnot family for more than 2 centuries.

In 1765, the Marquis d'Espinay-de-Laye took over and transformed Champ-Renard into a wine estate. The future American president Thomas Jefferson, a great wine connoisseur and then ambassador of the United States, was welcomed at the estate during a stay in the region.

Later, the estate passed into the hands of merchants, notaries and various owners who made it their main or secondary residence.

It was bought in 2014 by a couple of entrepreneurs from Lyon, Fabienne Vilain and Denis Garnier, who decided to restructure the vineyard and completely renovate the venues to be able to host events.

The privatization of venues includes the access to our meeting rooms, but also to our park of 1,6 hectares and its hundred-year-old Charmille. In total, no less than 500m² of modular space can be made available to you according to your objectives.

This five-room suite with a total surface area of 200m² is ideal for organizing your executive committees, strategic meetings, boards of directors, business dinners, company cocktails or networking evenings for up to 40 people.

With their woodwork, comfortable furnishings, and elegant, timeless decor, these rooms will allow you to focus on your goals, but also to relax between work sessions.

It is possible to book the Boiserie Room or the Gallery separately for your meetings, or to Book all the lounges, where there is also a billiard table and a smoking room.

Meeting spaces with a view of the park: we offer you Book our seminar rooms on the garden level for your professional events bringing together a larger number of participants. These modular spaces offer a beautiful view of the park. They can be adapted to your needs, whatever the format you prefer for your event. They can be equipped with a screen, a video projector, paperboards, etc. upon request.

The Guard Room - This large 200m² seminar room is the perfect place for conventions, conferences, fashion shows and training days. With its vaulted stone ceiling, waxed concrete and view of the oak barrels of the château, it is both elegant and authentic.

The Justice Room - This 100m² meeting space is extended by a 30m² canopy and is adjacent to the Guard Room. With its 4m high ceiling and its design chandelier, it will create a unique atmosphere for your meetings, trainings and corporate seminars.

Exceptional private tour - With this tour, you will have the privilege of discovering the salons decorated with works of art and antique furniture, the historic dining room of château, the library and its ancient books, the billiard room and the smoking room in the pointed tower. Dive into 8 centuries of history and discover the history of château and its evolution over time. You will then taste 4 of our vintages, accompanied by savory appetizers to better understand the food and wine pairing.

Oenology initiation workshop - If you wish to perfect your knowledge with friends or colleagues in a playful way, the château de Champ-Renard also offers an oenology initiation workshop in the afternoon or evening.

The introductory workshop includes blind taste tests. You will learn how to taste a wine in the rules of the art and to discover the style of wine you like.
