Matmut Stadium

This historic and emblematic stadium in the heart of Lyon offers you the chance to combine sport and emotion for your corporate events.  

The Stade de Gerland, before becoming the Matmut stadium, is one of France's oldest stadiums, built by architect Tony Garnier in 1919. Initially designed for athletic competitions, it soon became the exclusive home of the Olympique Lyonnais football team (7 times French Champions between 2002 and 2008!), while also hosting matches during the 1998 Football World Cup. The stadium also played host to some of the world's biggest stars, with concerts by the Rolling Stones, Michaël Jackson and Johnny Halliday!

On the strength of all these successes, the question of enlarging the stadium arose and the OL moved out of the city center. In 2017, Lou Rugby, a TOP 14 team, took possession of the venues stadium. The stadium is renovated in record time and becomes the MATMUT STADIUM de Gerland - 1st Rugby naming scheme. With a maximum capacity of 33,950 seats, the site becomes a veritable living space, with reception areas, a training center for the pros, a brasserie, a boutique and a hotel! Today, the stadium is a symbol of the city's sporting and cultural passion, attracting thousands of spectators every year for sporting and cultural events, most recently the Immersion music festival with concerts by Stromae, Orelsan and Black Eyed Peas.
