Very beautiful. We got lucky to have good weather until the end of our visit (a storm started but the bus was very easy to access and the waiting time was under 10 min). It is easily accessible on foot as well as by bus (no fare) from the parking lot. It was indeed a bit crowded, as expected, but nonetheless manageable.

The place is a breathtaking medieval marvel perched atop a rocky island, offering stunning views and rich history. Its Gothic architecture, winding streets, and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit. While the climb to the abbey can be steep and crowded, the experience is truly magical, especially during sunrise or sunset. A visit here feels like stepping into a fairytale.

Absolutely incredible experience. I'd go again in a heartbeat-if only to show future travel companions what they've been missing. Pro tip: Check the tide charts before you book your ticket. I showed up at 8:20 a.m. only to find the causeway under water. I rolled up my pants, took off my shoes, and walked barefoot through "brisk", knee-deep water. It wasn't exactly glamorous-but it turned out to be the best decision I made. While the crowd massed on the bridge waiting for the tide to recede, I made it across early and practically had the island to myself. It felt like six people total were exploring the streets with me. Go early. Yes, it gets packed. But anyone who's traveled knows that's just the price of admission at major landmarks. That said, Mont Saint-Michel earns every bit of its fame. The atmosphere is magical, the architecture surreal, and the entire place is steeped in a sense of mystery and timelessness that pictures don't do justice. Highly recommended.

What can you say that hasn't been about this incredible place? It is a 4.5 hour bus ride from Paris but in my opinion this medieval marvel is worth the trip. The setting, the construction, the history and architecture from 800s to modern times is astounding. I believe this is just not to be missed. We went at the end of winter so the crowds were not too bad at all. In summer it is overwhelmed by tourists. But still an iconic part of France to see.

Come in February. You might get lucky with the weather, you might not, but the crowds will be a lot thinner and there will be some room to breathe. The eating establishments on the island are fine but very very pricey. There is a sandwich place (Frigale) or, better yet, get an early lunch before you arrive and do the tour late so - again - it's not so busy.
