Crypte archéologique de l’Ile de la Cité
7 Place Jean-Paul II, parvis Notre-Dame

Book the archaeological crypt of the Ile de la Cité, an exceptional site close to Notre-Dame
The archaeological crypt of the Ile de la Cité is an atypical and mysterious place in the heart of historic Paris. A most exclusive experience for your partners and guests.
Built in 1980 under the forecourt of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral to present the archaeological remains discovered during excavations carried out between 1965 and 1972, the Crypt offers a unique panorama of the urban and architectural evolution of the Ile de la Cité, the historic heart of ancient Paris. The discovery of the buildings that succeeded one another on the site, from Antiquity to the 20th century, invites the visitor to go back in time: the quay of the port of ancient Lutetia, the Gallo-Roman public baths, the surrounding wall from the beginning of the 4th century, the basement of the former chapel of the Hôtel-Dieu, the medieval remains of the rue Neuve Notre-Dame, the foundations of the hospice des Enfants-Trouvés, the layout of the Haussmann sewers: the ancient, medieval and classical past comes to life.
We offer to welcome your guests for a private tour followed by a cocktail.
