DOUCET AND CAMONDO: A PASSION FOR THE 18th CENTURY
Jacques Doucet (1853-1929), a famous fashion designer and patron of the arts, was also one of the most important collectors of his time. A selection of drawings, photographs and archival documents held at the INHA traces the history of this prestigious heritage. The exhibition reveals the ephemeral decor of thePrivate Mansion located on rue Spontini in the 16th arrondissement, which Doucet had specially built to house this collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, furniture and objets d'art of the 18th century. It highlights the works that belonged to Jacques Doucet, which are kept in the Nissim de Camondo Museum, formerly Private Mansion of Moïse de Camondo, thus creating a link between these two great collectors.
